The 2020 Welsh Open was a professional snooker tournament held at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff, Wales. The tournament was played from 10-16 February 2020 and was the 12th ranking event of the 2019-20 snooker season.

2020 Welsh Open Round One Draw & Results


Top seed Neil Robertson takes on Jamie Clarke and 2nd seed Judd Trump takes on James Cahill in round one of the Welsh Open. Ronnie O’Sullivan (4) competes against Zhang Jiankang in on Tuesday 11 February in the afternoon session.  

David Gilbert (12) was the first seed to be knocked out, going down 4-2 to Matthew Stevens. Other seeds to fall in round one include Joe Perry (17), Matthew Selt (28), Ryan Day (26), Graeme Dott (21), Thepchaiya Un-Nooh (20) and Zhou Yuelong (23).

The 2020 Welsh Open quarterfinals were best of 9 frames. Kyren Wilson knocked out top seed Neil Rboertson 5-0 in an impressive display while Ronnie O'Sullivan got past Mark Selby 5-1. Yan Bingtao got the better of John Higgins in a 5-2 while 2nd seed Judd Trump was knocked out in a 5-3 loss to Shaun Murphy.
