Mark Selby and Ronnie O’Sullivan will do battle across three days in their World Snooker Championship semi-final clash at the Crucible with their last four showdown getting underway on Wednesday.

Five-time champion O'Sullivan defeated Mark Williams to secure a record-equalling 12th Crucible semi-final appearance. His opponent will be Selby, who was too good for Neil Robertson in their quarter-final.

Ronnie O'Sullivan reached a 12th World Snooker Championship semi-final after coming from behind to defeat Williams 13-10 at the Crucible. While the sixth seed wasn't at his best, it moved the Rocket a step closer to landing a a record-breaking 37th career ranking title.

O'Sullivan made light work of Thepchaiya Un-Nooh in the first round with his 10-1 victory officially the fastest match in the history of the tournament. Ding Junhui put up much more fight, but still went down 13-10 to the Rocket in the second round.

Five-time Crucible champion O'Sullivan hasn't reached the last four since winning the last of his titles in 2013. But his win over Williams ended that made for another semi.

Selby was then very impressive in his quarter-final victory over Neil Robertson as he won 13-7 against the second seed.
