We are down to eight teams competing for the gold medal at the 2025 World Championship, with the quarterfinal action starting today. Co-hosts Croatia will take on Hungary at Zagreb Arena, followed by a clash between France and dark horses Egypt.

Croatia are brimming with confidence after winning all three games in the second phase, becoming the first team to beat and eliminate Iceland. Hungary are yet to claim a major scalp in the tournament, which explains their status as underdogs.

Egypt have been one of the most pleasant surprises of the 2025 World Championship so far, but can they overcome gold medal favorites France? Les Bleus have won all six games to date, with their smallest margin of victory being a seven-goal difference.

Additionally, four placement matches (25th to 32nd place) will be held throughout the day: Guinea vs. Cuba, Algeria vs. Bahrain, Kuwait vs. Japan, and Poland vs. the United States.
