2019 UEFA U21 European Championship News, Info, Teams & Fixtures

The 2019 UEFA U21 European Championship will be hosted in Italy & San Marino, starting on 16 June 2019 with the Final being held on 30 June 2019 at the Stadio Friuli in Udine.
The 2019 UEFA U21 European Championship will be the 22nd edition of the tournament for the best men's U21 national teams in Europe. The tournament also serves as the European qualifying tournament for the 2020 Summer Olympic's in Japan. 

The competition began as the U23 Challenge Cup and has been known as the U21 Championship since 1978. This will be the first tournament to use the video assistant referee (VAR) system.

There will be six stadiums in northern Italy and San Marino hosting matches including the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara in Bologna, Mapei Stadium - Città del Tricolore in Reggio Emilia, Stadio Dino Manuzzi in Cesena, Stadio Nereo Rocco in Trieste, Stadio Friuli (Dacia Arena) in Udine and San Marino Stadium in Serravalle, San Marino.

A total of 54 UEFA nations competed in the qualifying competition with hosts Italy qualifying automatically. There will be 12 teams contesting the tournament including Italy, Spain, France, England, Serbia, Germany, Croatia, Denmark, Belgium, Romania, Poland and Austria.
