Serbia won the inaugural ATP Cup in 2020, defeating Spain 2-1 in the final after overturning a 1-0 deficit.
Russia beat Italy 2-0 in the 2021 final with Andrey Rublev beating Fabio Fognini 6-1 6-2 and Daniil Medvedev beating Matteo Berrettini 6-4 6-2.

ATP Cup History
The ATP Cup was first proposed by ATP director Chris Kermode on 1 July 2018. The idea for the ATP Cup was a continuation of the World Team Cup that took placed in Düsseldorf, Germany from 1978 to 2012.
On 15 November 2018 the ATP and Tennis Australia announced that the World Team Cup would be renamed the ATP Cup. The format would see 24 teams playing in Brisbane, Perth and Sydney in the build up to the Australian Open Grand Slam.
The Hopman Cup was discontinued with the introduction of the ATP Cup.
The 2020 ATP Cup was the first edition of the tournament and won by Serbia. Spain's Roberto Bautista Agut beat Dušan Lajović in the first match but Serbia bounced back after Novak Djokovic defeated Rafael Nadal. Serbia clinched the title in the doubles match, Novak Djokovic &Viktor Troicki beating Pablo Carreño Busta & Feliciano López 6-3, 6-4.
The 2021 ATP Cup was the second edition with 12 nations competing in Melbourne because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The tournament was played from 2-7 February with Russia defeating Italy 2-0 in the final.
