Zheng took out Oceane Dodin 6-0 6-3 in the fourth round and came from a set down to beat Anna Kalinskaya 6-7 6-3 6-1 in the quarter-finals.

The Chinese start then defeated Dayana Yastremska 6-4 6-4 in the semi-finals to reach her maiden grand slam final.
