Novak Djokovic is now sat on an Emirates flight bound for Dubai and the organisers of the Australian Open have wasted no time in resetting the schedule.
Novax's Australian Open slot for Monday 17th Januray 2022 has been given to Alexander Zverev.
The top seeded Serb was scheduled to play in the second match on Rod Laver Arena on night one against Miomir Kecmanovic.
However, defending champion Djokovic is now out of the tournament after losing his court fight with the Australian government and having his visa cancelled.
Aussie star Ash Barty is the favourite in the women's draw and will take on Lesia Tsurenko in the first match of the Rod Laver Arena night session.
Kecmanovic has been shunted to 1573 Arena and will face world Italian lucky loser Salvatore Caruso, who has taken Djokovic's spot in the line up.
Third seed Zverev is the big winner, shifted to Rod Laver Arena from Margaret Court Arena for his match with fellow German Daniel Altmaier.
Aussie John Millman gets that slot for his clash with Spain’s Felipe Lopez.
