Emma Raducanu’s odds on winning the Australian Open have been slashed after her first round win.

US Open champion Raducanu came into the tournament as a 33/1 shot to go all the way in Melbourne.

But her first-round performance against Sloane Stephens has forced bookmaker Coral to slash her odds to 14/1.

Raducanu threatened to make quick work of Stephens as she took the first set 6-0, only for the American to battle back and take the second 6-2.

The British teenager issued a blistering response though, taking the deciding set 6-1 to win the match.

“Emma Raducanu looked to pick up from where she left off in New York on her first Grand Slam appearance since winning the US Open,” Coral’s John Hill told FreeTips.com.

“Her odds have been slashed by more than half to win the Australian Open following her victory over Sloane Stephens.”
