Iga Swiatek Form

Iga Swiatek won six events last year, taking out the United Cup, Qatar Open and Indian Wells Open on hard courts. She won the Madrid Open, Italian Open and French Open on clay.

The Pole didn’t win another tournament which saw her give up the World No.1 spot to Aryna Sabalenka. She started 2025 at the United Cup, winning four matches before a 6-4 6-4 defeat to Coco Gauff in the final.

Swiatek beat Katerina Siniakova 6-3 6-4 in the Australian Open first round and has dropped just seven games since. She thrashed Rebecca Sramkova 6-0 6-2, Emma Raducanu 6-1 6-0 and Eva Lys 6-0 6-1 and Emma Navarro 6-1 6-2, her serve unbroken in that run.

Verdict

Iga Swiatek is on fire at the Australian Open, winning four straight matches without her serve being broken. Madison Keys deserves plenty of respect in Melbourne, but I can’t go past the World No.2.
