Novak Djokovic Form
Novak Djokovic is now on a 19-match winning streak at the Australian Open. Every time he has reached the semifinals, he has gone on to win the tournament.
He has never had to work so hard to reach the semifinals, however. Only one match of five has been settled in straight sets.
After suffering an abdominal injury against Taylor Fritz in the third round, Djokovic was pushed to four sets by Milos Raonic in the fourth round, then Alexander Zverev in the quarterfinals.
Djokovic was broken in his opening service game in three of four sets vs Zverev, trailed 0-3 in the third and fourth sets and made some very unusual errors. He was able to produce some spectacular defence and produce clutch holds of serve when it mattered most.
He made his highest percentage of first serves since the first round as he won 6-7(6), 6-2, 6-4, 7-6(6).

Aslan Karatsev Form
Karatsev had barely played ATP Tour-level matches before this Australian Open, but the qualifier has proved to be one of the biggest stories of the fortnight.
Karatsev glided through his first two matches before ousting three seeds. He beat Diego Schwartzman in three sets and came back from two sets down against Felix Auger-Aliassime. He trailed Grigor Dimitrov in the opening stages but came back as Dimitrov struggled with a physical issue.
Karatsev hits the ball incredibly hard off both wings, but he has been in some ways fortunate to get away with slow starts in the previous two rounds. He is up against one of the greatest Grand Slam champions of all time.
Novak Djokovic and Alexander Zverev meet in the quarterfinals of the Australian Open on Thursday 18 February.
