Cameron Norrie Form
Norrie upset compatriot Dan Evans in the first round, impressing with a smart and controlled performance against the 30th seed.
In the second round he coped well with a match that was moved from an outside court to Margaret Court Arena after being interrupted by rain. Norrie came back from a set down to beat improving Russian Roman Safiullin 3-6, 7-5, 6-3, 7-6(3).
Norrie is playing well in 2021 and is a dogged competitor. But he is 1-9 vs top-10 players and part of the reason is that he simply doesn’t have big weapons to hurt them. This does not look like a good match-up for him.

Rafael Nadal Form
Nadal pulled out of the ATP Cup where he was supposed to lead Spain, and struggled to practice due to a lower back injury. But the 2009 champion has looked in very strong form at the Australian Open so far.
Nadal dropped eight games against Laslo Djere in the first round. Against Michael Mmoh in the second, he played some sensational tennis to win 6-1, 6-4, 6-2. He did not concede a single break point and won 84% of points behind his first serve.
This is a particularly significant stat considering his serve would be the thing worst affected by a lower back problem.
Rafael Nadal and Cameron Norrie meet in the third round of the Australian Open on Saturday 13 February (7.30am GMT).
