Alexander Zverev eased past Alexandre Muller and Daniel Altmaier in Munich before going over three hours in a quarter-final win over Tallon Griekspoor. He beat Fabian Marozsan 7-6 6-3 in the semis and is a short priced favourite to win in Germany.
Ben Shelton saved three match points against Borna Gojo in his opening match in Munich and hasn't looked back. He registered straight sets victories over Botic van de Zandschulp and Luciano Darderi and produced a huge upset to defeat Francisco Cerundolo 2-6 7-6 6-4 in the semi-finals.
Zverev leads 1-0 in the head-to-head following a 3-6 7-6 7-5 victory in Cincinnati last year.
