The Pole has been strong at the French Open where she has won 24 of her last 25 matches. She defeated Cristina Bucsa, Claire Liu and Xin Yu Wang in straight sets before Lesia Tsurenko retired in the first set.

Swiatek beat Cori Gauff 6-4 6-2 in the quarter-finals and was pushed hard in the second set in the semi-finals, getting past Beatriz Haddad Maia 6-2 7-6.

Karolina Muchova's best results on hard courts this year have been quarter-final appearances in Auckland, Dubai and Indian Wells.

The 26-year-old has competed in two events on clay, an early exit in Madrid before losing to Paula Badosa in the Italian Open fourth round.

Muchova defeated World No.8 Maria Sakkari 7-6 7-5 in the French Open first round. She then beat Nadia Podoroska in 3 sets before getting past Irina Camelia Begu and Elina Avanesyan in straight sets.

The Czech defeated Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 7-5 6-2 in the quarter-finals and continued her strong form in the semi-finals, outlasting World No.2 Aryna Sabalenka 7-6 6-7 7-5.
