Kim Clijsters French Open Odds

Kim Clijsters is currently priced at 250/1 to win the 2020 French Open at Unibet. She will likely receive a wild card unless she can improve her World Ranking and qualify through that route.

Kim Clijsters History

Clijsters competed professionally from 1997 and rose to the top of the game where her rivals included compatriot Justine Henin and Serena Williams. Clijsters became the first Belgian player to claim the No. 1 ranking in August 2003.

Clijsters won 41 singles titles and 11 doubles titles on the WTA Tour and won the WTA Tour Championships three times. She has been a champion at all four Grand Slams, winning the US Open and the Australian Open singles titles and Wimbledon and the French Open doubles titles.

Her success at Grand Slams was highlighted by winning three consecutive appearances at the US Open in 2005, 2009 and 2010. Clijsters took a break from the game in 2007 and was absent for the entire 2008 season.

Clijsters made another comeback in 2020, coming back to play on the WTA Tour after over seven years in retirement. Clijsters returned to professional tennis at the 2020 Dubai Tennis Championships in February, losing 6-2 7-6(6) to Garbiñe Muguruza in the opening round before a 6-3 7-5 first round exit to Johanna Konta at  WTA Monterrey.

Kim Clijsters French Open Record

Kim Clijsters took part in the French Open for the first time in 2000 where she was knocked out in the first round by Ai Sugiyama. Clijsters reached the 2001 French Open Final, going down in an epic 1-6, 6-4, 12-10 defeat to Jennifer Capriati.

Clijsters reached the French Open in 2003 where she went down 6-0, 6-4 to Justine Henin-Hardenne. She returned to Roland Garros in 2005 where she suffered a Fourth Round exit to Lindsay Davenport and made the semifinals in 2006 where Justine Henin-Hardenne was too good on clay once again.

The Belgian has played in one French Open since, in 2011 where Clijsters lost in the second round to Arantxa Rus. It was her earliest exit at a Grand Slam since the 2002 Wimbledon Championships.

2020 French Open Winner Odds

Simona Halep leads the way in the 2020 French Open women's singles winner odds. Current World No. 1 Ashleigh Barty is next best with Garbine Muguruza, Serena Williams, Kiki Bertens, Bianca Andreescu and Naomi Osaka next best.

Kim Clijsters is priced at a whopping 250/1. Anything is possible and if she can get plenty of playing time before the French Open, that price could come down substantially. Odds from Unibet and correct on 18 March 2020:
