Lois Boisson has recorded her second top-10 upset in a row to continue her odds-defying Roland-Garros run, reaching the semifinals in her Grand Slam main draw debut.

Coco Gauff has reached her third Roland-Garros semifinal after snapping the Grand Slam winning streak of Madison Keys. She lost a set for the first time in the campaign before emerging victorious.

Gauff enters as the heavy favorite, but Boisson has made it clear she won’t be backing down from top opposition.

Making her Grand Slam main draw debut, Boisson has shocked the field to become the semifinalist ranked 361st and has confirmed her ranking rise into the top 100.

She survived three-setters in three of the first four rounds, upsetting the likes of Elise Mertens and third seed Jessica Pegula, before taking out Mirra Andreeva, 7-6, 6-3.

Her only top-100 win prior to this run had come against world No. 91 Varvara Gracheva at 125k Saint-Malo last year, where she ended up winning her biggest title.

She arrived in Paris fresh off a W75 title in Saint-Gaudens, consequently extending her winning streak on French clay courts to 10 matches.

Boisson has been a strong clay-court competitor both before and after her nine-month ACL injury, winning five titles on the surface since the start of 2024.

Gauff has become the youngest US woman to win 25+ matches at Roland-Garros in the Open Era, confirming this achievement with a largely efficient campaign so far.

She won the first four rounds in straight sets, at worst needing a tiebreak against Marie Bouzkova in the third round.

Her first proper test came against reigning Australian Open champion Madison Keys in the quarterfinals, but she rallied from a set down for a 6-7, 6-4, 6-1 victory.

Gauff has played four Grand Slam semifinals in her career, reaching two finals (Roland-Garros 2022, US Open 2023).

She did lose in her last two semifinals in majors, including to Iga Swiatek in Paris last year.

Her clay form is peaking at the right time, having landed in Paris fresh off runner-up finishes at WTA 1000 events in Madrid and Rome.

She will be the heavy favorite to end Boisson's Cinderella run.
