Novak Djokovic started 2021 by winning his 9th Australian Open title.
He didn’t play again until the clay court swing in Europe. The Serbian failed to fire in Monte Carlo and Belgrade before reaching the Rome Masters final, going down 7-5 1-6 6-3 to Rafael Nadal in Italy.
The World No.1 went back to Belgrade and was too good for a weak field, beating World No.255 Alex Molcan 6-4 6-3 in the final.
