Hubert Hurkacz vs Sebastian Ofner Live Stream & Tips - Expect Deep Sets in Hurkacz versus Ofner in Geneva
- Hurkacz vs Ofner: both rebounding from injuries.
- Expect long sets & skilled service holds.
- Hurkacz’s significant comeback; Ofner eyes top 100 return.
Hubert Hurkacz vs Sebastian Ofner Preview
Both players have done a great job this week, but considering they're still not back to full fitness after returning from injury breaks, their durability remains questionable. With the number of matches they’ve already played, there’s always a risk of them breaking down physically.
Because of that, I’m not confident backing either one to come through with a win. However, I do expect plenty of easy service holds and long sets. Both players are solid on serve and should have no trouble pushing sets to 7-5 or 7-6, especially in these high-altitude conditions.

Hubert Hurkacz Form
After falling to Tommy Paul in the quarterfinals at the Rome Masters just a few days ago, Hubert Hurkacz bounced back in Geneva by defeating Taylor Fritz in straight sets, avoiding another quarterfinal loss to an American opponent.
This is already a strong run for the top-ranked Polish player, who is still working his way back after undergoing surgery at the end of 2024. He missed a significant portion of the early 2025 season, which caused him to drop out of the top 20 and fall to No. 31 in the rankings.
The victory over world No. 4 Taylor Fritz marks Hurkacz’s 10th career win over a top-10 player and his first since he reached the final in Halle last year, where he lost to Jannik Sinner.
One more win would give Hurkacz his best result of the 2025 season. His only other semifinal appearance this year came in Rotterdam back in February, where he was stopped by top-five player and eventual champion Carlos Alcaraz.
This time, he has a much more favorable matchup in the semifinals. Hurkacz is currently on a 15-match winning streak against players ranked outside the top 100, and he holds an unbeaten 3-0 record against them in semifinal matches.
Sebastian Ofner Overview
- Current rank: 128
- Career high rank: 37
- ELO rank: 98

- Form against top-50 players: 3-2 in 2025
- Tour-level semifinal record: 1-3
Sebastian Ofner Form
Sebastian Ofner’s situation is quite similar to Hubert Hurkacz’s. He dealt with a fitness setback last year and only started his 2025 season in March, so making it to a tour-level semifinal just a few months into his comeback is a major achievement.
A result like this so soon after returning can make a huge difference. It potentially saves months—or even years—of grinding on the Challenger circuit and gives a quick boost in the rankings.
Thanks to this run, Ofner has climbed to No. 108 in the live rankings, and one more win would push him back into the top 100.
The Austrian has played in four previous semifinals on the main tour and won just one of them, against Paul Jubb in Mallorca last year. Notably, that was also his most recent semifinal appearance at this level.
Friday’s matchup against Hubert Hurkacz will be Ofner’s toughest semifinal yet. Three of his four previous semifinal opponents were ranked outside the top 50, and the other was No. 34 Adrian Mannarino.
