Eva Lys arrives in Berlin set to play just the second main-draw grass-court match of her career. Of the five grass events she has entered so far, four ended in the qualifying stages, including her 2024 Berlin campaign, where she fell in three sets to Anastasija Gasanova.

Her lone main-draw appearance on grass came at Wimbledon 2024, where she advanced through qualifying with three wins over lower-ranked players before losing in the first round to then-world No. 45 Clara Burel, 6–2, 6–4.

Lys opened her 2025 season in impressive fashion, reaching the second week of the Australian Open as a lucky loser.
