Danielle Collins enters the Strasbourg semifinal after a physically demanding route, battling through back-to-back three-set matches against Sofia Kenin and Emma Raducanu. She did receive a helping hand after Anna Kalinskaya's withdrawal in the semifinals.

Liudmila Samsonova, who was 1-4 in her last four tournaments before this week, continues to beat good opponents. She dismissed third seed Paula Badosa in three sets for her fourth career clay semifinal and the second in Strasbourg.

She has replicated her 2024 run here after defeating Linda Nosková and Diane Parry in straight sets earlier in the campaign.

The Russian has never reached a clay final at tour level, faltering in her three previous semifinal bids, most recently losing to Madison Keys in Strasbourg in 2024.

She was struggling to piece together consistent wins ahead of Strasbourg, failing to win multiple matches in 12 of her last 14 tournaments. From Miami to Rome, she collected just a single match victory.

The lack of long runs will probably come back to trouble her against Danielle Collins.
