The Italian reached the Phoenix Challenger final, won the Marrakech Open and lost the final in Stuttgart. He had a positive end to the clay court swing, winning titles in Gstaad and Kitzbuhel.

Berrettini went out to Holger Rune in the Cincinnati Masters first round. He lost to Taylor Fritz in the US Open second round, regaining some confidence at the David Cup where he won all three matches against players outside the Top 60.
