Katie Boulter vs Aryna Sabalenka Predictions
Second seed Aryna Sabalenka has a history of underperforming at Grand Slams, but she has compiled an impressive 30-10 win-loss record in 2021.
Katie Boulter is slowly rebuilding after injury derailed her rise through the rankings in 2019 and has twice taken sets from top-10 players. But she is unlikely to be able to stop the bludgeoning power of Sabalenka.

- Aryna Sabalenka won her only previous match against Katie Boulter by less than 6.5 games

Aryna Sabalenka Form
Powerful Aryna Sabalenka has established a pattern of underperforming at Grand Slams. The Belarusian has won 10 WTA Tour titles including some very prestigious ones, like Madrid in 2021, but has yet to reach a Grand Slam quarterfinal.
Sabalenka’s game is hit-and-miss and she has no plan B. In some ways, her attacking game is perfectly suited for grass and she was an Eastbourne finalist in 2018.
Sabalenka has never won back-to-back matches at Wimbledon, but the players who tend to beat her are those who can disrupt her rhythm with variety. The second seed survived one such player, Monica Niculescu, in the first round, beating her 6-1, 6-4.
Sabalenka simply overpowered Niculescu and will be looking to do the same thing to Boulter.

Katie Boulter Form
Katie Boulter is attempting to rebuild her ranking after a devastating back injury in 2019. The British player had broken into the top 100 but after missing eight months her ranking dropped outside the top 300.
Boulter has only been able to work her way back up to world no. 219. However, she has still had some good wins since her injury.
She beat Coco Gauff and Kristyna Pliskova on hard courts in the first quarter of the season. As a wildcard at the grass-court Nottingham International, she beat three good players including Marie Bouzkova to reach the quarterfinals.
Boulter scored a comeback win over Danielle Lao in the first round, winning 6-7(6), 6-3, 6-4 to set up a fourth career clash with a top-10 player. She lost the previous three, but not before taking a set from Karolina Pliskova in 2018 and Naomi Osaka in January of this year.
Katie Boulter and Aryna Sabalenka meet in the second round of Wimbledon on Wednesday 30 June.

Sabalenka has never made the third round at Wimbledon but she has been stopped by opponents who disrupt her rhythm. Boulter does not have the game to do that. The British player is likely to be able to keep the match close, but it is difficult to see her winning it.
