Jiri Lehecka had a promising start to the year, winning the Brisbane International and losing to Novak Djokovic in the Australian Open fourth round. He got to the semi-finals in Doha, beaten in 3 sets by Jack Draper.

The 23-year-old had a poor end to the hard court swing before competing in five tournaments on clay. His best result came in Hamburg where he suffered a quarter-final defeat to Tomas Martin Etcheverry.

The Czech started the grass court swing in Stuttgart, beating Benjamin Bonzi and Jan Lennard Struff before a 6-4 6-4 quarter-final defeat to Ben Shelton.
