Andrey Rublev had a slow start to the year before winning the title in Doha. He was unable to reach a quarter-final in his next six tournaments.

The Russian won the Hamburg Open without facing a Top 25 player. He then got to the French Open fourth round where he lost 6-1 6-3 6-4 to Jannik Sinner.

The World No.14 started the grass court swing in Halle. He beat Sebastian Ofner in straight sets before a 6-3 6-7 7-6 second round defeat to Tomas Martin Etcheverry.
