Elina Svitolina came through a real test as she beat Victoria Azarenka in three sets to move into the second week in London, but this might be a step too far for the popular Ukrainian.

Iga Swiatek breezed through the first three rounds at Wimbledon this year by defeating Lin Zhu, Sara Sorribes Tormo and Petra Martic in straight sets each time.

However, she was given a real scare in the fourth round as she saved two match points before defeating Belinda Bencic 6-7 7-6 6-3.

It is the first time world no. 1 and top seed Swiatek has reached the quarter-finals at SW19.

Elina Svitolina Form

Elina Svitolina was brilliant in the second and third sets of her clash with Victoria Azarenka as she ran out the 2-6 6-4 7-6 winner to move into the quarter-finals.

The win followed victories in straight sets over Venus Williams and Sofia Kenin, and a three sets win over Elise Mertens in the second round.

Svitolina has won two-thirds of her matches this year (16 wins, 8 defeats) and has a negative record on grass across her career (21 wins, 22 defeats).
