Marton Fucsovics Form


Marton Fucsovics reached the final in Rotterdam in March where he lost 7-6 6-4 to Andrey Rublev. He then reached two consecutive quarter-finals before a second round exit to Rublev in Miami.

The 29-year-old switched to clay where he won three of his eight matches, failing to get past the second round in five straight tournaments.

The Hungarian played his first grass court tournament in Stuttgart where he lost to Ugo Humbert in the first round. He lost to Soon Woo Kwon in the second round at Eastbourne.

Fucsovics has turned that form around at Wimbledon and got through some tough tests. He beat Jannik Sinner 5-7 6-3 7-5 6-3 before Jiri Vesely retired in the second round. 

Marton Fucsovics beat Diego Schwartzman 6-3 6-3 6-7 6-4 in the third round. He hit 40 winners and 47 unforced errors, saving 3/7 break points and winning 8/14 break points.

Andrey Rublev Form


Andrey Rublev started 2021 by winning the ATP Cup with Russia. He then reached the Australian Open quarter-finals and won the title in Rotterdam, beating Marton Fucsovics 7-6 6-4 in the final.

The Russian reached three straight semi-finals in Doha, Dubai and the Miami Masters before turning to the clay courts in Europe.

The 23-year-old beat Roberto Bautista Agut, Rafael Nadal and Casper Ruud at the Monte-Carlo Masters before losing 6-3 6-3 to Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final.

Rublev failed to reach another semi-final on clay, culminating in a disappointing 6-3 7-6 4-6 3-6 6-4 first round defeat to Jan Lennard Struff in the first round at the French Open.

Andrey Rublev played his first grass court tournament of the year in Halle. He beat Nikoloz Basilashvili in the semi-finals before a 6-3 7-6 defeat to Ugo Humbert in the final.

Rublev started Wimbledon with a 4-6 6-4 6-1 6-2 win against Federico Delbonis. He beat Lloyd Harris 6-1 6-2 7-5 and Fabio Fognini 6-3 5-7 6-4 6-2 where he saved 7/9 break points and hit 36 winners with 28 unforced errors.
