Novak Djokovic dropped a set for the first time at Wimbledon 2023 when beating Hubert Hurkacz 7-6 7-6 5-7 6-4 in the last 16 on Monday.
The reigning champion and 23-time Grand Slam winner had been foot perfect with straight sets victories in the opening three rounds.
He beat Pedro Cachin 6-3 6-3 7-6, Jordan Thompson 6-3 7-6 7-5 and Stan Wawrinka 6-3 6-1 7-6 to cruise through the opening week at SW19.
Andrey Rublev Form
Andrey Rublev warmed up for Wimbledon by reaching the final of the Halle Open before losing to Alexander Bublik 3-6 6-3 3-6.
He gained revenge on the same opponent in the Wimbledon round of 16, winning a gruelling five-setter 7-5 6-3 6-7 6-7 6-4 to set up this quarter-final.
It continued a tough run at Wimbledon for Rublev, who beat Max Purcell in straight sets before needing four sets to get past Aslan Karatsev and David Goffin.
