2024 BBC Sports Personality of the Year Odds – Stephen Bunting a 66/1 outsider after big darts win

Stephen Bunting may have won his first PDC Darts title over the weekend, but the bookmakers do not expect that to be the first step towards the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award.
After ‘The Bullet’ lifted his first televised TV title, beating Michael Van Gerwen in the Masters final, Ladbrokes has installed him at 66/1 for the annual BBC gong.
That ranks him alongside the likes of Harry Maguire and Emma Raducanu, and ahead of last year's winner, England goalkeeper Mary Earps.
“Step aside, Luke Littler; the darting world has gone Bunting mental this weekend,” Ladbrokes’ Alex Apati told FreeTips.com.
“And after ending his 10-year wait for a title, we've installed The Bullet as a 66/1 shot to win Sports Personality of the Year... putting him level in the betting with the likes of Raducanu and Maguire."
England and Real Madrid footballer Jude Bellingham continues to lead the way at 13/2, ahead of rising darts star Luke Littler at 7/1.
Reigning PDC darts world champion Luke Humphries is currently a 33/1 shot for Sports Personality of the Year.
