Ronnie O'Sullivan is the favourite to win BBC Sports Personality of the Year after clinching his record-equalling world snooker championship on Monday.

O’Sullivan claimed the Crucible crown for the seventh time, becoming the oldest player to ever win the tournament.

As a result, Coral is now 5/1 to win the annual BBC award, with boxer Tyson Fury his main rival at 8/1.

“Ronnie has won his seventh World Championship and arguably this was his best ever,” Coral's Harry Aitkenhead fold FreeTips.com.

“He became the oldest player to win the event and did so in incredible style at a tournament with a record amount of century breaks.

“He is now the firm favourite to be crowned Sports Personality of the Year for 2022.”
