England and Manchester United goalkeeper Mary Earps is considered the overwhelming favourite to win BBC Sports Personality of the Year.

With the final shortlist now announced, Ladbrokes make the Lionesses ace just 1/7 to win the annual BBC gong.

Earps won the Golden Glove at the Women’s World Cup and saved a penalty during her team’s 1-0 defeat to Spain in the final.

She is expected to leave Manchester United when her contract expires next summer, but before then the bookmakers expect her to claim at least one more accolade.

“All eyes will no doubt be on Mary Earps' next move,” Ladbrokes’ Alex Apati told FreeTips.com.

“The latest odds suggest she'll be arriving at her next club as Sports Personality of the Year.”

Cricketer Stuart Broad is way off as 10/1 second favourite, with jockey Frankie Dettori 16/1 alongside athlete Katarina Johnson-Thompson.

Golfer Rory McIlroy and wheelchair tennis star Alfie Hewett are the current rank outsiders at 25/1 and 50/1 respectively.

Stuart Broad - 10/1
Frankie Dettori - 16/1
