Wicks second favourite in latest BBC Sports Personality of the Year betting

Joe Wicks has seen his odds of being crowned Sports Personality of the Year slashed by Ladbrokes.

The nation's PE Teacher has seen his odds tumble from 25/1 to just 8/1 in the matter of two weeks, putting him behind just Tyson Fury (4/5 at time of writing) for the annual gong.

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson remains an 8/1 shot alongside Wicks, while Lewis Hamilton is 10/1 in the betting, with every other name being 16/1 or bigger.

Ladbrokes spokesperson Alex Apati told FreeTips.com: "Whether it's a mention in the Queen's New Year Honours List or SPOTY, we reckon Joe Wicks will be rewarded for his efforts in some form."

The 2020 BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards take place this December.
