UFC 305 Preview

The card is main evented by a fight for the UFC middleweight title, as Dricus Du Plessis defends for the first time against former champion Israel Adesanya.

Du Plessis has won seven straight fights since signing with the UFC, with his most recent outing seeing him dethrone Sean Strickland via split decision back in January.

He now takes on a man who dominated the division between April 2019 and September 2023, with the exception of a handful of months.

Adesanya won UFC gold for the first time in 2019 and made multiple defences before seeing his first reign end with a knockout loss to Alex Pereira in November 2022.

‘The Last Stylebender’ regained the belt in the rematch, only to lose it to Strickland last September, and he will be determined to become a three-time champion.

But can Adesanya make Du Plessis a ‘one hit wonder’, or will the champion enjoy a successful defence?
