Virtual Football - Where to play & FAQs
Below we list the most popular virtual football questions.
How long does each match last?
The match is technically ninety minutes long although you will watch no more than ninety seconds of highlights which will show the goals being scored, the near-misses and other exciting passages of play.
How often do the games take place?
Most bookmakers run matches every three minutes, allowing you roughly ninety seconds to place bets before kick-off. There is a countdown which tells you how many seconds remain before the markets are suspended.
What teams play each other?
It depends on the bookmaker. William Hill offer fictional international matches such as England v Brazil and Germany v Portugal, while Ladbrokes tend to mix things up so you have fixtures such as Cardiff Utd v Munich and Reading Magics v Charlton Athletes. Ultimately, it doesn't really depend on the team names as they are just applies for the purposes of betting. You might find that England v Brazil is followed a few minutes later by England v Scotland.
What betting markets are available for each match?
You can bet on the Win-Draw-Win market where you have a wager either on the home win, the draw or the away win.
You can also bet on the Correct Score and there are typically fifteen potential outcomes available, while you can bet on the exact number of Total Goals, Over / Under 2.5 Goals and Double Chance. Some firms even give you the chance to bet on Asian Handicap markets.
How are the odds decided for each game?
It’s important to note that the prices in no way reflect the chances of real-life teams. For example, Brazil might be playing San Marino and the latter could be favourites when it comes to Virtual Football.
The odds are computer-generated and reflect how likely the outcome is. Typical match odds might be: USA 2/1, Draw 5/2, Ukraine 5/4
So that means that Ukraine are favourites to win, although we should probably expect a close match settled by just the one goal, unless it’s a draw. The odds are the only way to form an opinion when it comes to placing a bet. There is no form guide to use so it’s more like placing a bet at the casino than actually betting on a real-life sports team.
Can I place In-Play bets on the action?
There is no In-Play betting available due to the fact that the match does not unfold in real time. Ninety minutes of play is squeezed into ninety seconds so pre-match bets only.
Can I place accumulators on Virtual Football?
Yes, they work in exactly the same way as real-life football accumulators. So you might add Finland, Reading Magics and Serbia to your bet slip for the next three matches coming up. You can then choose to place singles, doubles, trebles or a trixie with these selections.
