Flat racing fans have got a bumper Saturday of action to look forward to, with 12 races coming to us live from across three premier tracks. Newmarket's July Festival wraps up with the historic July Cup. ITV viewers will also enjoy four live races from York on John Smith's Cup day, and a couple of strong contests from Ascot, including the Group Two Summer Mile.

Here are my best betting tips for Saturday's ITV races at Newmarket, York and Ascot.

ITV Racing Schedule

Table

ITV Racing Tips - Saturday 11th July

1:40pm Newmarket - Maiden Stakes Tips

I'm very much a form studier, so maidens where only a couple of the runners have been seen on the track really don't appeal to me. I'll leave the opener alone.

1:55pm Ascot - Club 26 Heritage Handicap Tips

I'll always favour runners drawn on the high side in handicaps at Ascot, and ANCIENT STATE (14/1) looks good value from stall 15.

Adam Kirby's recruit has won three times since joining his burgeoning operation and travels to Ascot in search of a hat-trick. Ancient State was impressive when scoring at odds of 22/1 on the July Course last month, and appeared to have plenty left in hand when following up at Lingfield two weeks later.

Kirby has booked visiting jockey Maxime Guyon for the ride, and he's no stranger to the winner's enclosure at Ascot, having partnered Solow to victory in both the Queen Anne Stakes and the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes back in 2015. Ancient State could still be ahead of the handicapper, and he should be a major player carrying just 8st 6lb.

2:15pm Newmarket - Worldpool Fillies' Handicap Tips

William Knight won the inaugural running of this handicap 12 months ago, and TRUE TEST (7/2) deserves her place at the head of the market for Saturday's renewal.

True Test won her maiden over this course and distance last summer before going close in a valuable conditions race at Newbury in September. Knight's filly then spent the winter in Meydan, going down by just a head in a Listed mile before finishing 13th as a 250/1 outsider in the 1000 Guineas.

William Buick took the ride when True Test made her handicap debut in the Sandringham at Royal Ascot, where she shaped well to finish sixth from an unfavourable position on the track. She remains on the same mark after that effort, and this handicap looks considerably weaker. I really fancy her chances.

2:27pm Ascot - Summer Mile Stakes Tips

More Thunder was my selection in the Queen Anne Stakes, and I was gutted when William Haggas' charge was mugged by Ten Bob Tony. Cieren Fallon's mount looks to have a huge chance again, but DOCKLANDS (13/2) can never be ruled out around Ascot, and I think there were excuses for his below-par performance at the Royal Meeting.

Harry Eustace's stable star takes his racing well, and won the 2025 Queen Anne after racing at Epsom just a couple of weeks earlier. This year, Eustace gave his star 50 days off before returning to Ascot, and Docklands looked rusty from the outset, failing to make up any significant ground from the rear.

George Wood has been given the chance to ride a Group One winner for the first time, and Docklands' record around this course is excellent. With that Royal Ascot run under his belt, I'd be surprised if we didn't see a much more competitive display from this usually dependable miler.

2:39pm York - John Smith's Racing Handicap Tips

David O'Meara boasts an excellent record in this handicap, and Cerulean Bay deserves his position at the head of the market. I like the look of O'Meara's second string, NEW IMAGE (16/1), who'll be ridden by Mason Paetel.

New Image won on his first start over a mile in 2024, scoring under Hayley Turner in the Shergar Cup. O'Meara's gelding then ran only twice during an injury-hit 2025, but went close on his return at Thirsk, going down by less than a length off a reduced mark of 90.

New Image hasn't been as competitive on his last three starts, but he was very slowly away on his penultimate outing at Doncaster and was hampered at a crucial stage when last seen at Redcar. O'Meara's six-year-old is well handicapped off a mark of 86, and Paetel is excellent value for his 5lb claim.

2:52pm Newmarket - Weatherbys Handicap Tips

WECHAAD (5/1) has three lengths to find with Moonfall from their clash in the Britannia, but Roger Varian's colt is 7lb better off at the weights for this rematch on the July Course.

Varian's three-year-old was trying a mile for the first time that day and was a little keen after being reined back towards the rear of the near-side group. Ray Dawson then had to angle left through traffic in search of racing room along the rail, and Wechaad's challenge flattened out in the closing stages as he finished seventh behind George Boughey's winner.

It certainly wasn't the trip that beat Wechaad at Royal Ascot, and the July Course could suit him better than Ascot. It's not often Ryan Moore rides for Roger Varian, and his booking has to be viewed as a major positive.

3:12pm York - City Walls Stakes Tips

The bookies are currently offering 6/1 the field for this Listed sprint. Group One winner, American Affair appeals at that price, and Jm Jungle also makes it onto the shortlist.

AZURE ANGEL (16/1) appeals most to me at the prices. Ed Bethell's mare progressed nicely after joining his yard in 2025, and claimed a Listed victory on her return to turf at Bath in April. Danny Tudhope's mount then endured a nightmare start when fifth behind Washington Heights at Carlisle, and basically fell out of the stalls in the King Charles III Stakes at Royal Ascot, before picking up late on to finish 12th.

Tudhope's mount was only beaten four lengths in that Group One, having found herself at the back on the worst side of the track after two furlongs. Azure Angel ran better than the result suggests at the Royal Meeting, and she's already proven herself capable of winning at Listed level.

3:25pm Newmarket - Bunbury Cup Tips

The Bunbury Cup market isn't usually too far wrong, with eight of the last ten winners returning a single-figure SP. A wider draw has also been preferable, so GREAT ACCLAIM (7/1) must have a huge chance after being drawn in stall 11.

Eve Johnson Houghton's star was ultra-consistent last season, winning at Goodwood and Chepstow in between placed efforts at Ascot and here on the July Course. After a tricky start to this campaign in the Lincoln, Great Acclaim has picked up where he left off, going close at Haydock, in the Victoria Cup and most recently in the Buckingham Palace Stakes.

Despite losing by a cumulative margin of just two lengths across those three valuable handicaps, the handicapper has left Great Acclaim on a mark of 100. Charlie Bishop's mount is at his best over seven furlongs and is more than capable of landing a valuable prize like this under 9st 9lb.

3:45pm York - John Smith's Cup Tips

I put up RAAMMEE (5/1) at 20/1 when the John Smith's Cup entries were revealed, and I'm going all-in on Roger Varian's contender.

Varian's gelding made a winning debut at Kempton last August under Silvestre De Sousa before powering to another comfortable success over a mile at Newcastle the following month. Ray Dawson's mount was expected to make a winning handicap debut in the Whitsun Cup at Sandown in May, but raced too keenly behind a steady pace and couldn't find another gear in the closing stages.

Raammee remained over a mile for another handicap at Sandown in June, where he settled much better in a first-time hood and was the last to make his challenge, only to go down by half a length to Beagle Boy.

After those two performances, it felt only a matter of time before Raammee stepped up to ten furlongs. He is 3lb well in at the weights and remains open to plenty of improvement over this new trip.

4:00pm Newmarket - Superlative Stakes Tips

Charlie Appleby and Aidan O'Brien have won eight of the last ten renewals of the Superlative between them, and their contenders sit at the top of this betting heat. Despite a blip at Yarmouth, AL HUDAIBA (3/1) has looked highly progressive, and I fancy he'll get the better of Abraham Lincoln.

Appleby's colt won nicely on his racecourse debut on the Rowley Mile, before sending Tom Marquand tot he floor after jinking badly left on his second outing at Yarmouth. Zac Lloyd got a much easier time of things as Al Hudaiba carried a penalty to victory here on the July Course three weeks ago, winning with any amount left up his sleeve.

This son of Dark Angel will certainly stay further than seven furlongs in time. For now, Al Hudaiba seems entirely comfortable at the trip, and that experience on the course should stand him in good stead.

4:55pm York - Silver Cup Stakes Tips

Mount Atlas and Tabletalk were separated by just a neck when both were narrowly beaten by Gregory over this course and distance last month, and unsurprisingly head the betting. I've talked myself into a punt on ARABIAN FORCE (5/1), who'll be having just his second start over 14 furlongs.

William Haggas' colt got outpaced and looked in danger of dropping out of the TV picture when he ran in the Great Voltigeur Stakes last August, but responded brilliantly to pressure and was beaten only a length by Pride Of Arras. Arabian Force then stepped up in trip for the Noel Murless Stakes at Ascot, where he stayed on well to finish third behind Fantasy World.

Haggas' charge was beaten just half a length in a Listed race at Longchamp on his reappearance, before finishing a distant third behind the excellent Kalpana at Newbury. Arabian Force comes into this race fresh after being off the track since May, and Jason Hart's mount wears a first-time tongue-tie.
