Sunday's Horse Racing Bet of the Day Tips (October 11th)

4:42pm Goodwood - Naval Light

NAVAL LIGHT (11/2) took to a mile immediately on his first start over the distance at Ayr, and ground conditions at Goodwood should be in his favour again on Sunday.

Karl Burke's gelding spent most of his formative days running over five and six furlongs. Naval Light claimed an overdue first success over seven furlongs at Catterick in July before running well on unsuitably quick ground here during Glorious Goodwood. At Ayr, Sam James' mount was an unfancied 16/1 shot but made smooth progress into contention before stretching a length clear of some hardened handicappers in the closing stages.

A five-pound rise for that win doesn't seem harsh at all, and there should be more to come from Naval Light over a mile. James Doyle might have to work some magic from stall one, but at 11/2, he's definitely worth chancing.
