2026 Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes Tips - Australian Star to shine at Royal Ascot

The 2026 Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes, Royal Ascot’s premier six-furlong sprint, is set to attract top sprinters from around the globe. This year, Australian mare Joliestar leads the betting and is strongly tipped to win, given her consistent Group One form and favorable draw. Regional is also suggested as a lively outsider at long odds, especially given his proven form and preference for fast ground. The key recommendation is to back Joliestar for the win and Regional each-way for value.

Having been run as the Diamond Jubilee Stakes and the Platinum Jubilee Stakes in recent seasons, the final Group One at Royal Ascot was renamed to honour the late Queen Elizabeth II in 2022. This six-furlong contest always attracts a high-quality field and top sprinters from around the world will contest this year's race.

Chris Waller's mare Joliestar leads the way in the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes betting. A five-time Group One winner in her homeland, Waller's five-year-old will make her British debut on Saturday, and James McDonald's mount has landed a nice central draw in stall nine.

Satono Reve was narrowly beaten by the excellent Lazzat in this race 12 months ago and returns to Ascot on the back of a Group One triumph at Chukyo in March. Japan will also be represented by Lugal, who was last seen finishing a close second behind Native Approach in the Al Quoz Sprint at Meydan.

Commanche Brave took his form to a new level when landing the Greenlands Stakes, and Donnacha O'Brien's four-year-old is fancied to run another huge race. Andre Fabre's Prix Maurice de Gheest winner, Sajir, also sits prominently in the market. Listed winner Flora Of Bermuda and former Champion Sprinter Kind Of Blue could represent Wathnan Racing.

Lake Forest drops back down to six furlongs, but could struggle after a tricky draw in stall one. William Haggas is also represented by recent Listed winner Almeraq. Shock Champions Sprint winner Powerful Glory runs for the Faheys, with Richard Hannon represented by the consistent Aramram.

Bjorn Baker's Overpass runs again following a narrow defeat in Tuesday's King Charles III Stakes. Commonwealth Cup winner Time For Sandals is out quickly again too, after a six-length defeat on Tuesday. Stolen Kiss is the second French representative in Saturday's feature. Sayidah Dariyan, Regional, Jasour, Great Wish and former two-time winner Khaadem complete the line-up.

2026 Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes Tips

Tuesday's King Charles III Stakes proved once again that the current crop of British sprinters is fairly average. Mission Central won on his first start over five furlongs, with French and Australian raiders completing the first three.

I thought earlier in the week that the only thing that could stop JOLIESTAR (9/4) from winning was a tricky draw, and after James McDonald's mount was placed perfectly in the centre of the track, I have no reason to take the market leader on.

I'm no expert on Australian racing, but from what I've seen in replays, Joliestar looks a lovely, straightforward mare. Waller's star has been extremely consistent on home soil and travels to Ascot on the back of the two best performances of her career.

Joliestar led home a 1-2-3 for Waller in the Canterbury Stakes, tracking the leaders before pouncing at the perfect moment. The favourite then took a lead from Overpass in the T J Smith Stakes, making her move a little earlier as the field straightened for home before comfortably holding her rivals on the run to the line.

Overpass has been drawn in stall seven on Saturday, with the fast-starting Great Wish on Joliestar's immediate inside. Waller couldn't have asked for a kinder draw, and I'm struggling to see how Joliestar gets beaten in Saturday's feature.

The sprinting division is, however, unpredictable by nature, so I'm also going to have a saver on the lovable REGIONAL (50/1) at a huge price.

Ed Bethell's eight-year-old is a former Group One winner, having landed the 2023 Sprint Cup at Haydock. Regional's Royal Ascot record is strong too, with two placed efforts in the King Charles III Stakes standing out on his CV.

Regional lost his form a little last season and suffered an injury in the Beverley Bullet at the end of the summer. Bethell's eight-year-old showed up well on his comeback effort in the Minster Stakes at York, where he broke quickly, looked likely to fade at the two-furlong pole, but ran on again late to finish third behind Elmonjed and Kind Of Blue.

Having been off the track for 250 days before that run at York, Regional was fully entitled to improve for the outing. Six furlongs has always been his optimum trip, and Callum Rodriguez's mount loves fast ground.
