Jesse Yaginuma and James Carroll will be awarded their respective payouts from the 2025 WSOP Millionaire Maker event; however, the gold bracelet will not be issued due to the outcome of a chip-dumping investigation.

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) has concluded its investigation into alleged chip-dumping during the heads-up session of the 2025 Millionaire Maker event.

Although Jesse Yaginuma and James Carroll will receive their respective payouts, no WSOP gold bracelet will be awarded for the event.

The Millionaire Maker, a $1,500 buy-in tournament that drew 11,996 entries, was set to award Yaginuma $1,255,180 for first place, plus a $1 million bonus from ClubWPT Gold.

Carroll, who finished second, was expected to take home $1,012,320. However, following widespread accusations of collusion during heads-up play, the WSOP placed both the payouts and the bracelet award on hold pending a formal inquiry.

Allegations of Collusion Surface During Heads-up

Concerns were raised across the poker community regarding several hands played between Yaginuma and Carroll at the end of the tournament.

Observers noted patterns suggesting that Carroll may have intentionally lost chips to allow Yaginuma to secure the bracelet and the associated ClubWPT Gold bonus.

Yaginuma had entered heads-up play with a significant chip disadvantage, trailing 9-to-1, but staged a rapid comeback to claim victory.

The bracelet, which would have been Yaginuma’s fourth gold bracelet, was withheld pending the outcome of the WSOP's internal investigation.

WSOP Confirms Not Awarding Bracelet

After examining the final table play, the WSOP decided not to award a bracelet in the Millionaire Maker event. However, both Yaginuma and Carroll will receive the prize money as originally calculated. The split in payouts remains unchanged despite the controversy surrounding the integrity of the match.

Yaginuma will still receive the $1 million ClubWPT Gold bonus, making him the second player of the summer to win the promotional jackpot after Michael Lavin secured a similar reward earlier in Event #20.

ClubWPT Gold’s Verdict

ClubWPT Gold shared a post on their Twitter handle stating that the $1 million bonus will be awarded to Jesse Yaginuma as per the rules of the promotion.

2025 Millionaire Maker Controversy

The WSOP's decision to forgo awarding a bracelet in the 2025 Millionaire Maker reflects the seriousness with which the organization approaches concerns about game integrity.

While payouts remain intact, the unprecedented move marks a significant development in tournament governance and has already prompted renewed discussions within the poker community about enforcement and transparency in high-stakes events.
