2026 Super League Final Round Scenarios: Where Can Every Team Finish?

The 2026 Super League playoff teams are confirmed, but there is still plenty to decide heading into the final round.

Wigan Warriors and Leeds Rhinos are fighting for the League Leaders' Shield, Wakefield Trinity and Leigh Leopards are battling for home advantage in the playoffs, while Hull FC, Huddersfield Giants and Bradford Bulls are all trying to avoid finishing bottom.

Here is what every team is playing for in Round 27.

while also finishing above Catalans.

Huddersfield Giants14 points
Still in the wooden spoon battle, with victory significantly
improving their chances of avoiding last place.
Bradford Bulls14 points, currently last
Must beat Castleford and need results elsewhere to go their way
to climb off the bottom.

League Leaders' Shield Scenarios

Wigan control the race for the League Leaders' Shield heading into the final round.

A victory over Catalans will secure top spot. Leeds must beat Hull FC and hope Wigan slip up if they are to have any chance of reclaiming first place.

Wigan have already secured a home Semi-Final, while Leeds are well placed to claim the other.

Battle for a Home Eliminator

Wakefield currently hold fourth and have the simplest equation: beat Leigh and fourth place is theirs.

Leigh can still take home advantage away from Trinity, but they need to win by 28 points or more to jump above them.

If Wakefield remain fourth and Leigh fifth, the two clubs will meet again just one week later in the opening round of the playoffs.

Can Hull KR Finish Fifth?

Hull KR have secured their playoff place but can still move above Leigh.

The Robins need to beat St Helens and have Wakefield defeat Leigh to climb from sixth to fifth.

Regardless of whether they finish fifth or sixth, Hull KR will begin their title defence with an away Eliminator.

Wooden Spoon Scenarios

The battle at the bottom is also going down to the final round.

Hull FC, Huddersfield Giants and Bradford Bulls are all locked on 14 points, with Bradford currently last on points difference.

Hull and Huddersfield can put themselves in strong positions with victories, while Bradford must beat Castleford and hope other results fall their way.

York and Castleford are already safe from finishing bottom.

Toulouse Chasing History

Toulouse have the opportunity to secure eighth place and their best-ever Super League finish in their return season.

Finishing eighth would also see Toulouse end the campaign above French rivals Catalans Dragons.
