For the first time, neither Wigan, St Helens, Leeds, nor Bradford will contest the Super League Grand Final, guaranteeing a new champion. Bookmakers see little between Warrington Wolves and Wakefield Trinity, but Warrington are tipped to cover the -2.5 handicap. Wolves captain George Williams, with his experience and game-management, is predicted to be the difference-maker in a close match. Both teams have traded wins this season, each fixture seeing exactly 43 total points, making Over 29.5 points another appealing bet.

Warrington Wolves vs Wakefield Trinity Super League Grand Final Tips & Prediction

Warrington and Wakefield head to Old Trafford with the bookmakers struggling to separate them, but the Wolves are backed to cover the -2.5 line with George Williams tipped to be the difference.

For the first time in the Super League era, neither Wigan, St Helens, Leeds nor Bradford will feature in the Grand Final, guaranteeing a new name on the trophy.

There is very little between these sides, but George Williams is the reason we are siding with Warrington.

The Wolves captain has the experience for this stage and heads into his final appearance for the club with the opportunity to deliver the Super League trophy Warrington have been chasing.

In a Grand Final expected to be decided by fine margins, Williams' kicking game, running threat and ability to create something when a set breaks down could prove decisive.

Warrington and Wakefield have already traded wins this season. The Wolves won the first meeting 27-16, before Trinity responded with a 25-18 victory later in the campaign. Warrington led at half-time in both matches.

Over 29.5 points is also backed. Both regular-season meetings finished with exactly 43 total points, and there is enough attacking quality on both sides to clear a relatively low Grand Final total.

  • Warrington and Wakefield split their two meetings this season 1-1.
  • Both meetings produced 43 total points.
  • Warrington led at half-time in both games.
  • Warrington are appearing in their first Grand Final since 2018.
  • Wakefield are playing in their first Super League Grand Final.

Warrington Wolves Form Analysis

Warrington booked their place at Old Trafford with a 14-12 semi-final win over Leeds, showing they can handle the pressure of a tight knockout contest.

Their defence kept Leeds scoreless in the second half, while Williams gives them the experienced playmaker needed to control another close game.

The Wolves have already come through two playoff matches to reach Old Trafford and now have the opportunity to win their first Super League title.

Wakefield Trinity Form Analysis

Wakefield arrive after one of the performances of the entire playoffs, dismantling League Leaders' Shield winners Wigan 33-6 away from home in their semi-final.

Trinity completed at 95%, finishing 41 of 43 sets and repeatedly winning the physical battle through the middle.

Their pack will again be their biggest weapon. If Wakefield can reproduce that dominance and give their spine consistent attacking field position, they have already shown they can trouble Warrington.

Warrington Wolves vs Wakefield Trinity Team News

Both sides head into the Grand Final with the core of their semi-final teams available.

For Warrington, Williams will captain the Wolves in his final appearance for the club, while Danny Walker will again have an important role controlling the ruck and getting Warrington onto the front foot.

Wakefield will look towards their powerful forward rotation to provide the platform that proved so effective against Wigan.

Verdict

Warrington are backed to cover the small -2.5 handicap, while Over 29.5 points also appeals after both meetings this season reached 43.
