New Zealand Warriors vs Cronulla Sharks NRL Betting Tips - Sharks run to come to an end in Round 15

The New Zealand Warriors, despite a narrow loss to Penrith, remain one of the NRL’s top teams. Back at home against Cronulla, who are vulnerable defensively and missing key players, the Warriors are tipped to cover the -8.5 line and limit the Sharks to under 18.5 points. With strong discipline, run metres, and attacking weapons like Dallin Watene-Zelezniak (a good bet for scoring multiple tries), the Warriors look set for a bounce-back win at Go Media Stadium. Key bets: Warriors -8.5 points, Cronulla under 18.5 points, and Watene-Zelezniak for 2+ tries.

  • Warriors tipped to cover -8.5 at home vs Sharks due to strong form & defence
  • Cronulla’s defensive weaknesses and missing key players make under 18.5 team total likely
  • Dallin Watene-Zelezniak backed for 2+ tries against leaky Sharks defence

New Zealand Warriors vs Cronulla Sharks Verdict

The Warriors lost their top of the ladder clash with Penrith Panthers but can bounce back by ending Cronulla's winning run. I'm backing New Zealand to cover a -8.5 point line at home by keeping the Sharks under their team total.

  • The Warriors have won 4 of their last 6 games against the Sharks
  • Cronulla have conceded 26.0 points per game across their last five matches.
  • Warriors hold a strong run metres edge, averaging 1746m to Cronulla’s 1683m.
  • Dallin Watene-Zelezniak has scored doubles in two of his last three games and faces a Sharks defence allowing 24 points per game this season.

Head to Head

Cronulla lead the all-time head-to-head 28-20 and beat the Warriors 36-22 earlier this season.

The recent meetings have been mixed, with the Warriors winning three of the last five, including a 40-10 win over the Sharks in 2025 and a 44-12 win in 2023.

The key difference this time is venue. The Warriors are back at Go Media Stadium, where their controlled, high-completion style is much harder to break down.

Warriors Form - Six Game Run Snapped

The Warriors had their six-game winning run snapped by Penrith, but the 20-18 loss did little to change the view that they are one of the most reliable sides in the competition.

They have won four of their last five, with victories over the Dragons, Broncos, Eels and Dolphins before the narrow Panthers defeat. Across that span, they have averaged 29.2 points while conceding only 15.2, which is an elite two-way profile.

Their discipline remains a major strength. The Warriors are completing at 83% for the season and are conceding just 17 points per game. Even when they are not at their attacking best, they rarely give opponents cheap chances.

Cronulla Sharks Form - Sharks Building Momentum

Cronulla come in with momentum after a 34-12 win over the Dragons, but the performance was not as convincing as the final score suggests.

The Sharks trailed 12-6 at half-time after completing just 61% of their sets in the opening half. They eventually clicked into gear after the break, scoring four tries in 15 minutes, but that kind of slow start is dangerous against a Warriors side that is far more disciplined than St George Illawarra.

Cronulla have still scored well in wins, but their defensive numbers remain a concern. They are conceding 24 points per game for the season and 26.0 across their last five.

The Sharks are also still working without key spine pieces, with Nicho Hynes and Blayke Brailey missing last week. Against a strong Warriors defence, that makes the Under 18.5 team total worth attacking.

Verdict

Take Warriors -8.5, Cronulla Under 18.5 points and Dallin Watene-Zelezniak 2+ Tries.
