Set to kick off on Wednesday, July 15, VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) 2026 EMEA Stage 2 is the final stage of the VCT EMEA league for the 2026 season and the final chance for the European teams to lock in a spot at the season-ending VALORANT Champions.
Stage 2 will feature 16 teams, including 12 franchised squads and four Challenger teams, who will join the battle for the largest slice of the $250,000 prize pool and one of two direct invites to VALORANT Champions.
The expanded field should not shake up the balance of power too much, and, as it appears, the offseason roster changes haven’t moved the needle much either, with the usual faces sitting atop the power rankings.
To no one’s surprise, Team Vitality are billed as the team to beat, having proven their worth in Stage 1, and later in international events, where the Bees have emerged as one of the world’s best teams.
However, with the likes of Team Heretics, FUT Esports, Fnatic, and Team Liquid also in the race for gold, the road to the top will not be easy for anyone.
Promising weeks of exciting action and plenty of betting opportunities to explore, VCT 2026 EMEA Stage 2 is an event no esports fan should miss.
Here is our free VCT 2026 EMEA Stage 2 betting preview and guide with schedule, tournament format, main favourites, and our expert outright picks and predictions.
When Does VCT 2026 EMEA Stage 2 Start?
VCT 2026 EMEA Stage 2 is scheduled to start on Wednesday, July 15, with the first round of the group stage. The event will run for just over a month and conclude with the grand finals on August 30.
VCT 2026 EMEA Stage 2 Format
VCT 2026 EMEA Stage 2 has three stages, including the group stage, play-ins, and the playoffs.
The action begins with a 12-team group stage, with two single round-robin groups. Each group will consist of six teams, who will play best-of-three series, with all six (per group) proceeding deeper into the event.
The group winners will secure a playoffs upper bracket semifinal bye, and runners-up a spot in the upper bracket round 1.
Meanwhile, the third and fourth-place teams will proceed to the play-in upper bracket round 2, and the fifth-sixth place teams will proceed to the play-in upper bracket round 1.
VCT EMEA Stage 2 play-ins will welcome the eight group stage teams and four Challenger squads, who will be placed in a 12-team double-elimination bracket, where all games are played as best-of-three (BO3).
The top four teams from the play-ins will advance to the playoffs, with the top two securing an upper bracket round 1 bye and the third- and fourth-place teams a lower bracket round 1 spot.
VCT EMEA Stage 2 playoffs are double-elimination, with a best-of-five (BO5) lower-bracket final and grand final, and all other games are best-of-three (BO3).

Among all the participants, however, only a handful are viewed as serious candidates to make a run, having proven themselves as some of VCT EMEA’s top dogs this season.
Sitting atop the power rankings are Team Vitality, as the most successful VCT EMEA team of the season. They placed second in Stage 1, made a deep run in Masters London (4th), and did not disappoint at the Esports World Cup either.
Their tactical depth is second to none, allowing them to dictate the pace of matches, making Vitality incredibly difficult for opponents to dismantle when they get the ball rolling early.
Their biggest strength, however, is a high level of consistency, as Vitality have rarely fumbled their chances, thus giving their opponents little room for errors.
While Vitality are the team to watch, Team Heretics are not to be ignored either, as a serious powerhouse in the EMEA region. The defending champions have had a disappointing run in the recent international events; however, that does not take away from Heretics’ domestic dominance.
Fnatic have had quite a rough run through the 2026 season, but they’ve made necessary roster changes to increase their ceiling, and more importantly, introduce more stability.
Having kept the veteran core and leadership, Fnatic possess all the tools they need to make a run for the trophy – but after a slow start to the year, the Black & Orange first have to prove something.
FUT Esports join the rather short list of serious title contenders. While viewed as outsiders, FUT seem to be comfortable holding that tag, as they’ve become known to outperform expectations.
While FUT might be lacking some areas, they are an elite anti-start team, who are extremely efficient in punishing one-dimensional squads – a tool that has helped them shine before. With enough firepower and ability to perform under high-pressure situations, FUT are an elite team, who can punch up.

Verdict
Team Vitality are the most successful VCT EMEA team of the season and rightly viewed as the team to beat. However, as good as Vitality have been, they’re not the only squad with a realistic chance to make a run for the VCT EMEA trophy.
A more interesting pick to win the league are Fnatic. The Black & Orange have failed to live up to the expectations this season, but they’ve made the needed changes with the addition of Cloud, making this one of the most stacked rosters in the league.
Now fielding a scary amount of firepower, which, combined with veteran experience and Boaster as IGL, Fnatic can easily make a run for a podium finish, and it is hard to doubt them and their chances to outperform Vitality and Heretics.
