Playing Conditions & Court Speed

The ATP Beijing is played on outdoor hard courts at the National Tennis Center, with conditions that can suit aggressive baseline players and those capable of taking control of points early.

The medium-fast court rewards big servers and strong returners, while the medium bounce allows players to strike the ball cleanly from the baseline and look for opportunities to shorten rallies.

Beijing's early-October conditions can bring warm temperatures and humidity, with wind occasionally influencing play on the outdoor courts.

Players who adjust quickly to the conditions and maintain their level across a demanding week can benefit as the China Open progresses.

Players to Watch

Alexander Zverev
The highest-ranked player in the ATP Beijing draw, Zverev arrives having won two Grand Slam titles this year. His results outside the Slams have been more inconsistent, however, making his run in Beijing one to watch.

Daniil Medvedev
Medvedev has a head-start advantage after recently competing in China, reaching the final in Hangzhou. A former ATP Beijing runner-up, he has plenty of experience on these courts and could build on his recent run.

Novak Djokovic
Djokovic's form has not always been at its best, but his record in this part of the world remains difficult to overlook. A former champion in Beijing, he brings considerable experience to the China Open and will be looking to make another deep run.

Learner Tien
Tien made an impressive ATP Beijing debut last year, reaching the final before losing to Jannik Sinner. He has also shown decent form on hard courts lately and will be looking to go one step further this time around.
