Alcaraz Overcomes Injury
Carlos Alcaraz started the year as World No.1 and proved it by winning the Australian Open, Qatar Open and losing to Jannik Sinner in the Monte Carlo final.
The Spaniard hurt his wrist injury in Barcelona and spent four months out to recover. He returned to action at the US Open, dropping only one set on his way to the quarter-finals.

Alcaraz discussed fatigue after the match: “After the third set, physically I was really tired, but I found a way to push myself up and to physically give extra. In the fifth set I just started to feel better and better, but I was playing against one of the (best).”
