Jovic Seeks Her First WTA 1000 Quarterfinal
After defeating Harriet Dart from a set down in the opening round, Iva Jovic defeated Kamilla Rakhimova in straight sets to reach the fourth round in Beijing, winning 6-1, 7-5. She trailed 2-5 in the second set and also saved two set points before winning five consecutive games to seal the victory in straight sets.
With this win, she matches her total of 40 wins from last year. She has also extended her winning streak to six matches after defending her title in Guadalajara a few weeks ago.
The 18-year-old has shown impressive progress on tour this year, including five semifinal-or-better results and second-week appearances at the Australian Open, Wimbledon and US Open. These results helped her achieve a career-high ranking of No. 13 recently.

Swiatek Survives Vekic Scare To Continue Beijing Run
Iga Swiatek survived a scare against Donna Vekic to move into the next round after a tight three-set battle, winning 4-6, 7-6, 6-2. She trailed by a set and 2-5 at one stage before turning the match around with a dramatic comeback.
This is her third consecutive fourth-round appearance here in Beijing. She converted her first appearance into the title in 2023 but lost at this stage to Emma Navarro last year in three sets.
