Ashlyn Krueger secured her place in the fourth round after defeating Daria Snigur 6-3, 6-2. She saved all four break points she faced and converted three of the six break opportunities she created.
The American was a set and 1-4 down against Donna Vekic in the opening round before producing a remarkable comeback. She has since won her next two matches comfortably, including a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Mariam Bolkvadze, highlighting her growing confidence.
This is the best Grand Slam result of Krueger's career. She had previously reached the third round only once, at the 2024 US Open, where she was eliminated. With this run, she has now won 16 of her last 17 grass-court matches, including the WTA 125 title in Ilkley and the semifinals in Birmingham.
Krueger dropped outside the top 100 earlier this season after failing to defend key ranking points, but this run has moved her close to a return to the top 60.
She will now be aiming to reach her first Grand Slam quarterfinal and continue the best run of her career.
