Marie Bouzkova came from a set down to defeat Liudmila Samsonova 4-6, 7-6, 6-4 and reach the fourth round at Wimbledon. She saved 15 of the 16 break points she faced across the final two sets, a crucial factor in completing the comeback.
This is Bouzkova's third appearance in the fourth round at Wimbledon and at a Grand Slam. She converted her first opportunity into a quarterfinal in 2022, before losing at this stage to eventual champion Marketa Vondrousova in 2023 after leading by a set.
The Czech is currently on an eight-match winning streak on grass after lifting the first grass-court title of her career in Nottingham. It has been the best grass-court season of her career.
After a solid 2025, Bouzkova struggled during the opening months of this season and failed to win multiple main-draw matches in any event.
However, she has steadily improved since the start of the clay swing, winning the Bogota title, reaching the quarterfinals in Strasbourg, and the third round at Roland Garros.
