2026 Unibet Mares' Hurdle Runners
Topping the market for Saturday's feature is Jubilee Alpha. Paul Nicholls' mare ended her novice campaign with a Listed win at Cheltenham, but ran poorly at that venue last time out when only fifth in a handicap at the December Meeting.
Nurse Susan kept on well to claim a cosy victory in that handicap at Cheltenham, and Dan Skelton's nine-year-old steps back up into Listed company. That'll Do Moss almost caused an almighty shock in the Grade One at Fairyhouse last April, and should improve for her comeback run at Kempton.
Sunset Marquesa handed Shantwopointfive a sound thrashing when they met in a handicap over this course-and-distance last month, and both will jump up in grade on Saturday. The sixth and final entrant is another former Sandown winner, Anthony Honeyball's Good Luck Charm.
2026 Unibet Mares' Hurdle Tips
Favourites have a strong record in this Listed contest. Jubilee Alpha couldn't finish out her race under 12-00 at Cheltenham, but looks to be the class act in this contest and I'd be surprised if she didn't reverse that form with Nurse Susan.
I'm quite intrigued by THAT'LL DO MOSS (11/2), who ran a screamer over this track and trip last February. Fergal O'Brien's six-year-old went into the Jane Seymour Mares' Novices' Hurdle on the back of a maiden win at Ayr, and a powerful finish up the Sandown hill saw Jonny Burke's mount come within a short-head of upsetting Jamie Snowden's classy winner Hollygrove Cha Cha.
Despite a shock defeat as the 1/10 favourite on her next start in another maiden, O'Brien rolled the dice and sent his filly over to Fairyhouse for the Grade One Mares' Novice Hurdle. That'll Do Moss handled the testing ground better than most, mounting a strong challenge from the rear before eventually finishing second behind Willie Mullins' mare Aurora Vega.
That'll Do Moss looked one-paced when only fourth on her reappearance at Kempton, where she looked like she'd appreciate the run. Returning to Sandown is a plus for That'll Do Moss, and I'd be surprised if O'Brien hasn't targeted this contest.
