The 2026 World Cup qualification phase has finally concluded after Iraq defeated Bolivia 2-1 to clinch the final spot. The marathon qualification process began in September 2023 and spanned six confederations.

The Main Contenders - Who Wins the Title?

With the groups now finalised, the regular heavyweights continue to dominate the betting markets.

Spain are currently ranked No.1 in the FIFA World Rankings and are the team to beat. With young stars like Lamine Yamal and the return of a healthy Rodri, Luis de la Fuente's side deserve to be favourites.

Argentina's Lionel Messi is set to make his final appearance at the World Cup. The reigning champions dominated the qualifiers and it would be no surprise to see the South American side go deep.

France lost the 2022 final but boast one of the most electrifying attacks in world football. Led by Kylian Mbappé and supported by a fleet of young talent including Michael Olise, Les Bleus have the depth to overwhelm any opponent.

Never count out Brazil who are now managed by Carlo Ancelotti and have evolved into a more balanced and tactically disciplined side. They will be looking to reclaim their status as the world’s premier footballing nation and earn a sixth title.

England remain desperate to end 60 years of hurt and having finished runners-up at the past two Euros. Portugal will have Cristiano Ronaldo in their ranks and Germany have won four World Cups.
