The Dolphins should put plenty of points on the leaky Gold Coast Titans, who shipped 50 points last week. Back them to cover a -4.5 half time line and go over their 32.5 Team Total.

The Dolphins scored 36 points in both of their victories over the Gold Coast in 2025, beating the Titans 36-10 in Round 5 and 36-30 in Round 26. 

Dolphins Struggle Defensively In Opening Loss


The Dolphins started their 2026 campaign in ordinary fashion, leaking 40 points against the Rabbitohs in a 10-point loss at Suncorp Stadium on Sunday afternoon. 

There has been plenty of positive hype around Redcliffe in the offseason, but leaking 5 tries in the first 40 minutes of the year put a heavy damper on any of it. 

The positive was the response in the second half, however their right-side defence had no match for the Souths attack.

The 65% completion rate will need to improve dramatically and if it does the Dolphins will see a vast improvement and will see more than 41% of the ball. A poor game in Round 1 can be forgotten with a better performance this week.

Gold Coast Titans Go Down Heavily In Round 1


Josh Hannay’s tenure at the Gold Coast couldn’t have started any worse, going into the sheds 34-0 down against the Cronulla Sharks in Round 1. It quickly turned to 40-0 after the break with a final score of 50-10.

37 missed tackles is just the start of their problems but it is also what they are doing, or more so what they are not doing with the ball that is the problem. 

The Sharks had 27 more runs and 445 more run metres than the Titans, breaking their line on 7 occasions, while the Gold Coast made just 3 line breaks.

The only positive I take out of their opener was the performance of debutant Sialetili Faeamani who not only scored his first NRL try but also led the Titans with 152 run metres on 14 runs which was the second-most of any on his team.

The Dolphins to lead by over 4.5 at halftime and will score over 32.5 points with Herbie Farnworth crossing for a try.
