The League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) resumes on Saturday, April 4, with the LCS Spring.
Set to run from early April until June 14, the LCS Spring succeeds the LCS Lock-In, which gave the fans the first look at how the new rosters perform.
While the LCS Lock-In was a taste of what is to come, the real action begins with the LCS Spring, which features a much longer and more competitive format, designed to truly test the squads and their ability to perform and compete for tickets leading to the upcoming international events.
The early-season performances revealed LYON and Cloud9 as the strongest North American LoL esports teams and the main candidates to carry their dominance into the spring split. So it comes as no surprise that they’re priced as the main title favourites on the outright markets.
However, with the likes of FlyQuest, Team Liquid, and even Sentinels in the mix, esports fans can expect a fierce battle for top spots and plenty of upsets to keep things interesting.
Here is everything you need to know about LCS 2026 Spring, including the tournament format, favourites, and outright betting odds, courtesy of the best League of Legends bookmakers.
LCS 2026 Spring Format
LCS 2026 Spring will feature a very familiar format for League of Legends fans. Stepping away from the short-format used in LCS Lock-In, the spring split will be divided into two stages - the regular season and playoffs.
The action begins with a single round-robin group, featuring all eight participating teams. During the regular season, which will span from April 4 to May 17, the teams will play a series of best-of-three (BO3) games to determine which squads will proceed into the playoffs.
At the end of seven weeks, the top six squads will proceed to the playoffs.
Playoffs will use a familiar double-elimination format, with all games played as best-of-five (BO5) and the Fearless Draft rule in place. The top two teams will qualify for the Mid-Season Invitational, while the champions will qualify for the Esports World Cup

LCS 2026 Spring Favourites
LCS Lock-In painted a picture of which North American teams have what it takes to compete for the top spots. While things can change with a longer format, a couple of squads have emerged as top dogs and have retained that tag heading into the spring split.
According to the outright markets, the LCS Lock-In champions LYON are the main favourites to claim the LCS Spring trophy, ahead of LCS Lock-In runners-up, Cloud9.
LYON are rightly viewed as the team to beat. While they had a slow start to the 2026 season, they shifted into higher gear for the LCS Lock-In playoffs and produced a solid run to the title, beating FlyQuest, Liquid, Sentinels, and Cloud9.
They did not look as good at the First Stand tournament, where they managed only one victory. Moreover, there are arguments that LYON might feel fatigued, as they did not have a break. However, quality-wise, they remain the top dogs.
Cloud9 will not have to deal with fatigue, although they did attend the Americas Cup, where C9 placed second. A promising result ahead of the LCS Spring, but it remains to be seen whether Cloud9 can catch up and pass LYON as the region’s top squad.
Team Liquid did not have the best start to the year, and much of it came down to subpar showings from Morgan, who has yet to prove himself the superstar everyone expected.
Regardless, with the raw talent on this roster, Liquid have more than enough tools to make a run for the title - that is, as long as mid laner Quid and top laner Morgan step up.
Sentinels fall into the dark horse category as a squad that is not bad but not quite as potent as the top contenders.
They performed well above expectations in the Lock-In, and if the mid-jungle can step up, we will be seeing a lot more from Sentinels, who have already proven they have strong teamplay. The only thing missing is individual improvement.
