Sydney Roosters vs Gold Coast Titans Preview


The Roosters take a home game to Gosford but it shouldn't affect things with Sydney backed to dominate. The Titans did beat the Roosters last season to end 11 straight defeats, but don't expect a repeat. 

The Roosters are scoring an average of 41 points per game in their last five matches and I'm expecting them to put up another score around the 40 point mark.

The Titans got a hefty 30-12 win against the Roosters in Round 4 last season, breaking an 11-game losing streak against Sydney.

Six of the eight games played since 2019 have gone over the game total.

Sydney Roosters Form - Chooks Putting On The Points


There is no more dangerous attacking side in the competition than the Sydney Roosters right now. A 38-24 victory over the Brisbane Broncos, whose defence has been their strength in 2026, put a stamp on that statement.

Sydney have not scored less than 33 points and have an average of 41 points per game in their last five matches, playing three current top-eight sides in that span. 

James Tedesco is like a fine wine aging spectacularly, playing some of his best footy in his whole career. The Roosters No.1 has 10 line breaks in eight games along with seven try assists and four tries.

The concern for the Roosters is that they are still leaking points at a rate of 25.25 per game, however, if their attack is this clinical it is not a concern right now and can be improved as the season goes on.

Gold Coast Titans Form - Strugglers Again


The Titans are living up to their expectations in 2026 as one of the worst teams in the comp. Besides their 52 points against Parramatta, their attack has been more stale than one would have thought heading into the year. 

A 28-12 loss to Canberra in Round 8 was one of their worst performances of the season where they rarely threatened the Raiders with any creative ball movement that gave them a sniff of the line. 

Just 1379 total run metres was the core of under-par performance as they could not get out of their own end playing 59% of the match in their own end.

Something has to give on the Gold Coast with poor performance after poor performance and rubbish seasons after the next. 

Verdict

Angus Crichton is backed to score as the Roosters put up over 36.5 points and cover the 17.5 points line against the Gold Coast.
